Lisa Rands is an accomplished climber and coach at High Point CLimbing and Fitness in Chattanooga TN. She has won many competitions indoors and out, and has excelled in outdoor bouldering. Lisa is the first American woman to climb the elite grades of V11 and V12. She is known for having climbed Midnight Lightning(V8) and Plain HighDrifter(V11), between 2000 and 2002. Also Rands made the first woman to succeed on the problem, The Mandala(V12), in January 2008. Rands has also been successful in traditional climbing. She is the first person to acheive the grade of E8, with the ascent of with ascents of The End of the Affair at Curbar Edge in October 2004, and Gaia at Black Rocks in April 2006, both in England's Peak District. Both these routes are known for being extremly hard and extremly dangerous. A fall carries the most disastrous consequences for the climber. Rands has made a fast all-free ascent of Saint Exupery Spire in Patagonia. She has also sport climbed 5.13d/5.14a in China.
